ABOUT BEN POWELL
Filmmaker. Entertainer. Cool dude. Ben Powell is at least two of these things. He also specializes in comedic storytelling by way of skits, shorts or improv. When he’s not entertaining the masses with swift, clever stories he’s crafted from the finest, comedic materials, you’ll probably see him at a Wendy’s somewhere. In all seriousness, Ben is an aspiring filmmaker who wishes to entertain audiences through any form of media. He has directed, produced, written, acted in, and edited multiple short films and pieces for professional and personal purposes.
He is currently a senior at Georgia Southern University, majoring in Multimedia Film and Production. During his tenure here, he has taken classes focusing on the essential assets of film, like directing, editing, acting, and “Pretentious Stuck-Upness” 101. He currently works for the university as the A/V Production Specialist for the Georgia Southern Multimedia Development Center, where he serves as the lead Academic producer for the department. His current obligations are to produce and edit content for the University for internal use (videos for meetings or specific department events) and external use (videos that are uploaded to social media by the University for public consumption).
In the future, he hopes to garner a bigger platform he can use to entertain a wider audience, whether it be through film, television, or other online means. He also wishes not to be homeless.
